Dear Pastor Alex, Simone and team

The members of Keep Christchurch Beautiful would like to express their appreciation of your ongoing efforts to enhance the beautification of Christchurch.

Your large team comes out every few weeks, on a Sunday morning, to clean up areas of Christchurch in great need of some TLC, moving all around the city to do your good work.

Your team members are always cheerful, willing, hardworking, and not afraid to ‘get their hands (or at least gloves) dirty’. The most recent event in Linwood Village was a challenge, both in terms of the amount and bulk of rubbish to be collected, and the general condition of many of the items, being dirty and at times gross. Your team was always positive, keen to get the job done, and willing to do what was necessary to achieve that.

The appreciation of the local community of the effects of that clean up was apparent in the regular appearances of the Pharmacist from Linwood Pharmacy across the road, who popped out to take photos several times, always commenting in awe of what you were all pulling out of the corners and undergrowth to dispose of.

You make a huge difference to both the local areas you work in, and the morale of the people who live there. When a team like yours turns up to help others out of the goodness of their hearts, it really is uplifting for those benefitting.

We applaud your dedication and thank you for your ongoing hard work.
