World Mission Society Church of God
Whereas, It is the sense of this Legislature to honor and celebrate the people and organizations that make Monroe County a better place to live. Attendant to such concern, these Legislators are justly proud to honor World Mission Society Church of God; and
Whereas, The World Mission Society Church of God is a faith-based, non-profit organization founded by AhnSahnghong in South Korea in 1964 and has grown to reach 3.3 million members across 175 countries and 8,000 locations; and
Whereas, The Church has carried out a wide range of philanthropic activities, including disaster relief efforts, environmental protection campaigns, blood donation drives, and community support programs aimed at improving the well-being of individuals and families. For all of the aforementioned volunteer efforts the Church has received prestigious awards, including, the United Kingdom’s Queen’s Award, the United States President’s Volunteer Service Award and the Korean Presidential Group Citation; and
Whereas, These efforts of the Church are undertaken with the stated purpose of promoting compassion, civic responsibility, and unity within and across communities, regardless of nationality, culture, or background. The organization’s emphasis on volunteer service has mobilized large numbers of individuals worldwide to participate in meaningful charitable activities that address both immediate needs and long-term social challenges.
Now, therefore, let it be known, that I, Mercedes Vazquez Simmons, Vice President and Legislator, District 22, do hereby honor World Mission Society Church of God for their many good works and deeds and commitment to serving Upstate New York.
